We went here for the first time tonight, I just have to say, the service was fantastic, the waitress that served us was lovely, so friendly and genuinely happy. The atmosphere in the restaurant was calm, happy and energetic, you can tell the staff enjoy their job. The food, what can I say it was divine! My children had the pasta and pizza and they really enjoyed it. We had pasta, different dishes and it was delicious, my partner doesn't usually have pasta but said it was and I quote 'the best bolognese he has ever had'. We will most definitely be going back again. Thank you all at L'italiano

Edit. I finally tried the Carnivore (meat lovers) pizza...what a triumph!! The last time I remember a pizza this tasty was when I was in southern Italy. The pastry was perfect, and the proportions of toppings made it a taste sensation. Highly recommend giving it a go. A brand new Italian restaurant, courageously set up on a corner of Kent St. I had been wanting to visit this new endeavour since it opened, and tonight was my opportunity. The restaurant was buzzing when I arrived, being about 2/3 full. The kitchen staff were working hard, and boxed pizzas were going out the door. I ordered my go-to when trying an Italian restaurant, the home made gnocchi. If the gnocchi is good, then everything should be good, at least that has been the case in my experience. The gnocchi was VERY good! They were small and swimming in a tasty sauce of complex flavours that took a few mouthfuls to fully appreciate. I wanted to pick the plate, but I didn't want to scandalise the neighbouring table. It is clear that it is a brand new restaurant, and labour of love, with many visible changes to the menu. I am looking forward to seeing how this beautiful' 'Trattoria' will develop over time. Standby for a review of their wood fired pizza!

Visited for the first time tonight and what a treat :) the food was delicious and the portion sizes were great! Everyone raved about the flavours, staff were very attentive and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were happy and seemed to genuinely like doing what they were doing. I’d also like to mention the pricing, it’s very reasonable and each item is a few dollars cheaper than other local businesses, don’t let this trick you into thinking it’s not quality because we preferred the food to some of the more expensive options that are close by, an absolute quality restaurant. The only thing I would suggest changing would be your bruschetta, the flavours are brilliant but by the time we ate it the bread was soggy, still flavour was brilliant. I would put some mayonnaise on the side you’re putting the topping and cook it to create a barrier, it will go crispy and ensure the bread maintains its crunchy texture :) Thank you and we will be back!

We had a a great evening. Had about an hour wait for the meals, one was forgotten and made reasonably quickly. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere is good. The food was soooo tasty. The chilli mussels were wow!!! We will be back.

What an amazing food experience of authentic Italian cuisine, with handmade pizza, and pasta with freshly prepared sauces. You can taste the difference between what have been carefully created in-house.. The reservation was simple to arrange, and the staff was welcoming, and helpful in addressing our needs. The overall ambiance was excellent, and friendly. The cuisine and the portions exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely evening at L’Italiano, and we will surely recommend the place Grazie!

************UPDATE 11/06/25*************** We decided to go again and take Chef Giussepe up on his kind offer to cook the Scaloppine Marsala himself on the house. This time it was absolutely DELICIOUS. The veal was seasoned and tender, the vegetables were cooked to perfection and the sauce was just wow! Creamy, flavourful and full of mushrooms. True Scaloppine Marsala. Absolute opposite of our previous experience. My husband re-ordered his favourite Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli and it was even better than last time, with cheese sprinkled on top and tweaks to the sauce. We also ordered a Margherita and a Vegetariana pizza and there’s never any issues with their pizzas and breads. The dough is what sets them apart from any other woodfired pizza place in Perth. Just delectable. We decided to share a Tiramisu this time and it was simply luscious. The service was impeccable as always and there’s some new decor that lifts the atmosphere. We couldn’t be happier with our experience here tonight and even the chefs look like they’ve found their groove since we last dined. Bravo! ************************************************* Pros: - Servers were really awesome. - They were one chef down for most of the night and it was pretty busy with patrons and takeaway orders, but the food still came out at a very reasonable pace considering that - Table water was nice tasting and ice cold - I suspect from the texture that the wood fired Focaccia we ordered was actually just Pizza dough, BUT the dough is so so sooooo good we didn’t mind! Seriously great, you gotta try anything made with that dough. - Chips were beautifully crunchy - Ravioli was cooked to the most perfect al dente and the filling was tasty Cons: - Worst Arancini I’ve ever had. They were so bland and tasted “old” to me. The rice texture was tough yet chewy, and dryer than Arancini should be. - Scallopine Marsala was…well, just look at the photo. The Marsala sauce was mediocre at best and there were no mushrooms as advertised. The veal was on the tougher side of tender and the vegetables were not drained well, so they were still watery when dumped onto the plate and there was a puddle of water in the sauce. The entire dish was terribly bland and disappointing. The presentation made it taste even worse, as you eat with your eyes first. I understand wanting a home cooked presentation, but come on. Not worth $28 in my opinion. - The spinach and ricotta ravioli had no cheese sauce or Parmesan as advertised, it just had Napolitana. - The Aioli tasted like those sweet mayo-based salad dressings from the supermarkets. No garlic flavour and more watery rather than creamy. - No desserts available as they had sold out. We got there a few hours before closing. Overall an underwhelming experience and it seems there were a few shortcuts taken to get the food out in a timely manner, but they’re new and still finding their groove so will try again later this year and update. Until then, we will be back only for their breads and pizza. I will never stop raving about their incredible dough, so SOOOOOOOO good!

We had a beautiful evening at L'Italiano Restaurant and we can't wait to go back. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. The service was good and the entire staff made us feel very welcome, the hospitality feels like home. For starters, we had the calamari, which was perfectly battered and a great way to start the meal. We ordered pizza for the kids and pasta's, for the adults, but we tasted the Pizza too and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were amazing, mouth watering the pasta's were thoughtful and on point. We just loved it, calling it one of the best we ever had.. Thank you L'Italiano for this wonderful experience
